East-Timor is a country dominated by oral cultures, which was particularly relevant during the Struggle, due to the cruel life conditions of the population in general and the combatants in particular.

This reality cannot be ignored in the framework of the preservation of the Timorese people’s Memory, even though the documents so far collected, mainly written in Portuguese are, in themselves, a key instrument to recover the collective and the individual memory.

Therefore, we present here, also other documents - films, photographs, sounds – that illustrate different points of view on the life and struggle of the East-Timorese People.
