Resistance Shelters

Shelter in Ersoi

During its struggle against the occupying power, the Resistance used different types of shelter or hiding places:

  • Natural shelters in the mountains (caves, places hidden by vegetation and difficult to access, etc.);
  • Shelters or clandestine houses in urban areas, usually for short stays or situation of imminent risk;
  • Later on, in the 1990’s, underground shelters dug under more or less isolated houses.
