Exhibition preparation

The opening of the Archives & Museum of East-Timorese Resistance in Dili, on 7th December 2005, embodies the consolidation of a major Project aiming to preserve the memory of the heroic struggle of the East-Timorese people to achieve their independence.

The old Portuguese court of justice, partially destroyed and burned down during the events of September 1999, was chosen to house the new institution. Located at the centre of Dili, close to the Governor’s House and the Parliament, it is sided by the High School and the University.
